Dr. LJ Punch
Trauma Surgeon and Community Advocate
Dr. Punch loves to heal. Educated in medicine at the University of Connecticut and trained in surgery at the University of Maryland and R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center, this desire to heal has brought to life a career with a three-fold focus: education, violence, and equity. Through community engagement in St. Louis, Dr. Punch carries this mission forward each day, bridging the gap between the resources inside health care and the voices of the people. This includes a campaign to bring the national “Stop the Bleed” campaign to members of the St. Louis community at risk for violence and serious injury. This also includes the creation of “The T”, a community “Trauma Center” which focuses on harm reduction as a mechanism for primary prevention. Looking to advance the knowledge and bravery of learners of all levels in the management of violence and injury, both in and out of the hospital, Dr. Punch works diligently to serve medical professionals, patients, families, and communities in their shared journey toward healing.

Jane Hayes
MD, MPH Candidate
Jane has completed her third year of medical school at Washington University in St Louis. Jane is currently pursuing a Master of Public Health with a focus in Health Policy at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. After finishing her MPH, Jane will complete her final year of medical school and plans to pursue a career in emergency medicine.
Jane has worked closely with Dr Punch for several years and is one of the co-founders of The T. With a background as a paramedic, Jane is passionate about prehospital emergency medicine and enjoys teaching trauma first aid classes in the community. Jane is excited for the BRIC to serve the community with trauma informed care.
Nicole Carr

Indigo Hann
Clinic Coordinator and Medical Assistant
Indigo is a medical assistant and healing justice advocate. They graduated with a B.A. from Washington University in St. Louis and worked in urgent care before bringing their passion for trauma-informed, holistic, and community-based healing to the BRIC.
Indigo is your go-to person for coordinating your bullet-related injury care and for discussing nutrition, herbal remedies, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy skills (for managing post-traumatic stress). Indigo is a firm believer that healing happens in community and is dedicated to supporting survivors through every step of their healing journey.
