Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What is the Bullet Related Injury Clinic (BRIC)?

The BRIC is a free six-week virtual clinic that focuses on the physical and mental healing required after a gunshot wound. Our team is led by a doctor who works in the community, not in a hospital. The BRIC is a project of The T.

How can the BRIC help me?

We are here to help you get what you need to heal after a gunshot injury. The BRIC provides:

  • Everything you need to keep your wound clean and healthy (bandages, wraps, antibiotic ointment, etc.)

  • Information on things you can do at home to improve healing

  • Connections to additional resources in the community

Who can the BRIC help?

Anyone injured by a bullet who lives in the St. Louis region.  We also work with people that visited a St. Louis hospital for their medical treatment.

Why would I want to enroll myself or refer my patient?

Along with following the medical instructions you receive at the emergency department after a gunshot wound, there are many things you can do at home to improve healing.  The BRIC will address wound care, nutrition, sleep, stress, trauma, and managing your pain.  Our team is here to listen to you and help address ANY barriers holding back your healing.

The clinic is virtual.  Can I come see you in person?

At this time, the BRIC is not seeing patients at our physical location.  Once you enroll, we’ll set up video calls or phone calls to discuss your care right from your cell phone, tablet, or computer! In the future, we hope to offer
in-person visits at our physical location.

Need additional bandages?

You can visit The T Monday evenings from 5:00pm - 7:00pm to pick up free bandages and other materials needed for your wound treatment without an appointment!  Stop in and grab what you need. The T is located at 5874 Delmar Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63112.
